It was Christmas Eve and as the snow was starting to fall, Elle decided to have a hot chocolate, in front of the window. Elle was a librarian and this year, she was in charge of the Christmas bazaar in the library. Because it was Christmas Eve, it wasn't crowded. So, Elle, sat and stared at the snow. Suddenly, she heard a voice and turned to serve the man who was speaking to her. When she turned her head, she saw a very beautiful, sweet man, wishing her Merry Christmas! She didn't use to introduce herself to people, but this time she did.

       The man was named Jacob and he was teacher at a school near the library. He wanted to borrow a Christmas book, but when he saw Elle, he preferred to stay with her, because he was alone, too. It was sure… they were both in love!

       They were both very, very happy! Perhaps it was their most fantastic Christmas Eve! They stayed together until the morning, when Jacob had to go and buy some food. It was Christmas morning, and Elle had to close the library, because they had decided to stay together all day long. But, it was the most unfortunate moment…. When Jacob went out on the street, he was hit by a car… Elle heard the noise and went out. She started crying, when she saw her beloved so badly injured, blood everywhere. She took him to the hospital. He was very badly hurt. He slept until the 31st of December, when, that night, some minutes before New Year's Eve… he woke up! He opened his eyes and his first words were, ' Elle, will you marry me?' Elle had stayed with him at the hospital every day and every night, crying for him…. and now… she was the happiest person in the world! She said, “Yes”, without thinking! It was the best present she had ever had for the new year! Her beloved healthy, and their wedding!!!
