A sudden visit

It was Christmas Eve. My brother and I were setting the table and my mum was cooking. My dad was out tor bring some wood for thr fire. Suddenly, we were heard the doorbell. My mum opened the door and she started talking to someone. I went next to her and I saw a girl, like me, about the same age. The girl wanted some money or food. My mum was thinking about asking the girl to come in, but I didn't think about it and directly said it!  My mum smiled at me and told the girl that we had a lot of food for 5 people.

The girl came in the house and we exchanged names. Her name was Mina and I started talking to her and we had fun. When we started to eat, she ate like she hadn't eaten for days. After the dinner, we had to open the presents and I gave her my present. She was so happy. But it was 11 o'clock, and she had to return to her house, so I said goodbye to her and my mum said to Mina, "Our house is always open for you".  

It was Chistmas Eve, and Ben and Evie felt  happy as they looked at his present under the tree, but there was only one present. Evie said: "Mum ,why is there only one present? Where is the other one?" And mum said: "I don't know! Why don't we open this present? Maybe it's a beautiful present".

When they opened it, a dog jumped out and up to Ben's face. Evie and mum laughed at the same time. Ben said: "Evie! Look! A dog!" Ben and Evie had wanted a dog for 2 years and when they asked, "Mum, can we have a dog?" mum said: No children".

Now, they were very happy to have a dog. At the end of the day, the family ate dinner with the dog.
