It was a Friday night and Christmas Eve was coming soon. The town was full of decorations but there were no people outside. The city was silent, except for one corner. There was some light piano music, which was coming from a homeless man. His piano was very old and rusty, his clothes were dirty but he was playing the piano very well.

I decided to be brave and invite him to my home for food. After we ate, I got his piano fixed as a surprise. When he saw it, 'Thank you', he suddenly said and he gave me a weird looking watch. As I looked at it, the man disappeared. I was very shocked and I began searching for him. He was nowhere to be seen, so I decided to check that watch. I changed the batteries but when I tried setting the time, the time started running very quickly. When I had finished, the sky had turned a very weird colour, a mix of red and blue. Nothing was moving except me. Time had stopped working. I explored the town, trying to find a way to make time start again but it was pointless.

'Hey you!' someone suddenly said from the sky. 'Are you playing with time again? Oh! Who are you, and how did you got that watch?'

'A homeless man gave it to me'. I said.

The voice was very angry and kept shouting the name ‘Jonathan’. I had so many questions. The voice offered me a lot of money for leaving the watch on the floor but I refused. 'You sure are different huh? What do you think about the secret of Christmas?'

That caught me off guard so I accepted his offer. The voice continued, 'In the centre of this world, inside a cave that actually has oxygen inside the ocean, there is a holy fire, the spirit of Christmas. It is responsible for all the good and the bad things that happen at Christmas. If you find this flame, you will become the famous God of Christmas and will rule this planet for this time of the year. If you do a good thing this Christmas, the flame pays it back to you. That homeless man was actually the flame itself. If you do a ritual to communicate with the flame, You can choose whether be the God of Christmas or not'.

I immediately started the ritual and the flame appeared. I’m sure everyone in my place would accept the offer, but I didn't. I wanted to have a normal life and not be a god. The flame was surprised, but happy about my choice. Time started again. I tried to realize what had just happened but I couldn't. I had so many questions, but they never got answered. To do a good things and make the flame happy, I adopted a dog from a shelter this Christmas. It is an adventure I will never forget.

A STORY FOR CHRISTMAS

There was a boy named John that had to write a Christmas story as a project. He was thinking and trying to find ideas but his brain was empty. The ghost of Christmas Past visited him.

"Such a basic scenario is boring! Do something original!",said the ghost.

"I will name the story, A Christmas Carol".

"NO!!" said the ghost. "It has been copyrighted by Lucinda Dickens", said the ghost.

 

The ghost travelled with him to the past. "DON'T YOU KNOW HOW COPYRIGHT WORKS, DUMB KID?" said the ghost, madly. 

"This is my story and you are my creation, so close your mouth", said John.

 

They suddenly got to a snowy place, in London. "What will I have to do?" said the ghost.

"We will fight the new Grinch, the Coronavirus!" said John.

"John, we will get in trouble with the copyright again!"

.And how will we fight such a powerful enemy?" the ghost asked.

"Well, everything can happen at Christmas", said John. Then, John put on a Christmas hat and fire popped out of his hand. WOOOOOOOWWWWWW. Then they flew to Wuhan with a magic broom. John burned down the door and they got in the factory. Coronavirus was waiting for them.

"Oh! You're approaching me instead of running away! Are you coming right at me?" the virus asked. 

"I will not come near you! We have social distancing. Also, my power is long-range. TAKE THIS CORONA! ,2O METERS RADIUS, CORONAVIRUS VACCINNE…….."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH", shouted Corona and started melting,

"Impossible!" said the ghost.

"Nothing can be impossible at Christmas", said John and they returned home.

"This trip was fun! I wish I could do it again", John told the ghost.

"Don't forget me, John", said the ghost.

".I will not!" said John. "We will talk again in the next Christmas story".

I want one last thing from you", said the ghost.

"What is it? John asked.

"Change my name to Christmas Spirit next story!"

"I will", John said. "Goodbye my friend…… and Merry Christmas" .
